The Arizona Diamondbacks and All-Star outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. agreed to a three-year, $42-million contract, sources told Jeff Passan and Kiley McDaniel of ESPN.
Gurriel's deal reportedly includes a club option for a fourth season and an opt-out clause after the second year.
The 30-year-old hit a career-high 24 homers with 82 RBIs and a .772 OPS over 145 games last season en route to helping the D-Backs make a surprise World Series run. He was also selected to his first Midsummer Classic.
Arizona acquired Gurriel along with Gabriel Moreno in a trade with the Toronto Blue Jays last offseason.
The D-Backs have already landed slugger Eugenio Suárez and top left-handed starter Eduardo Rodriguez this winter.
