The Minnesota Twins signed right-handed reliever Josh Staumont to a one-year contract, the club announced Wednesday.
Staumont will earn $950,000 in 2024, a source told FanGraphs' Jon Becker.
Staumont spent the first five seasons of his career as a member of the Kansas City Royals. He registered a 5.40 ERA with 24 strikeouts across 20 innings for the Royals in 2023.
The 30-year-old missed the second half of the 2023 campaign after undergoing thoracic outlet syndrome surgery.
Staumont's best season came in 2020 when he posted a 2.45 ERA, 192 ERA+, and 37 strikeouts over 25 2/3 innings for the Royals.
The hurler gives Twins manager Rocco Baldelli another proven option in the bullpen to complement closer Jhoan Duran.
