Angels, d'Arnaud agree to 2-year deal reportedly worth $12M

The Los Angeles Angels agreed to a two-year contract with catcher Travis d'Arnaud on Tuesday.

D'Arnaud's deal is worth $12 million, sources told Jeff Passan of ESPN.

Angels general manager Perry Minasian believes the addition of d'Arnaud will help with the development of 24-year-old catcher Logan O'Hoppe.

"I think it's gonna be great for a guy like Logan, who's coming into his own, to have somebody with him as part of that tandem," Minasian said, according to Alden González of ESPN. "To have somebody with him like a Travis d'Arnaud, that will really help his career moving forward."

The 35-year-old backstop became a free agent last week after the Atlanta Braves declined an $8-million option on his contract for 2025. He hit .238/.302/.436 in 2024 in 99 games, with 15 home runs and 48 RBIs.
