The New York Yankees and New York Mets are among the teams that have talked with free-agent reliever Héctor Neris, sources told Andy Martino of SNY.
Neris is reportedly looking for a contract between one and two years worth $7 million-to-$11 million per season.
The 34-year-old amassed a 1.71 ERA with 1.05 WHIP and 77 strikeouts over 71 appearances with the Houston Astros last season. He owns a career 3.24 ERA with 11.2 K/9 across 10 years in the majors, which includes a 2022 World Series while suiting up for the Astros.
The Yankees' relievers finished 16th in fWAR last season after being one of the best in baseball in 2021-22, while the Mets' bullpen finished with the second-worst fWAR in the majors during the 2023 campaign.
