The Baltimore Orioles placed right-hander Grayson Rodriguez on the 15-day injured list with shoulder inflammation and reinstated left-hander John Means, the club announced Wednesday.

Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said Rodriguez underwent testing after the pitcher woke up with a sore shoulder following Monday's start, according to Roch Kubatko of MASN.

Rodriguez is off to a solid start this season for an Orioles club contending for a World Series. He's posted a 3.71 ERA with 37 strikeouts over 34 innings (six starts) during his sophomore campaign.

The 24-year-old former top prospect has been Baltimore's second-best starter outside of ace Corbin Burnes.

Meanwhile, the 31-year-old Means has yet to pitch this year due to a forearm strain. The 2019 All-Star has logged a combined 31 2/3 innings (six starts) between 2022-23 due to multiple major injuries, including a UCL tear that resulted in Tommy John surgery.
