Angels' Sanó out indefinitely after burning knee with heating pad
The Los Angeles Angels pulled infielder Miguel Sanó from his rehab assignment to allow more time for a burn on his leg to heal, according to Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register.
Sanó, who's been sidelined since April 26 with left knee inflammation, burnt himself after leaving a heat pack on his knee too long. He removed the protective padding to make it hotter before suffering the injury, per The Athletic's Sam Blum.
Sanó will complete his rehab assignment once the burn heals before being activated.
The 31-year-old had been in the midst of a resurgent campaign after not playing in MLB in 2023. Before landing on the IL, the veteran slugger hit .262/.352/.361 over 21 games played.
Sanó owns a career .805 OPS with 163 home runs over nine seasons.
