The Houston Astros placed star outfielder Kyle Tucker on the 10-day injured list with a right shin contusion, the club announced Friday, according to Julia Morales of the Space City Home Network.
Tucker hasn't played since fouling a ball off his shin during Monday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals.
The 27-year-old had been considered day-to-day since X-rays on his leg came back negative.
Tucker is off to the best start of his seven-year career, slashing .266/.395/.584 with 19 homers, 40 RBIs, and 10 stolen bases through 60 games.
The Astros are calling up Joey Loperfido to take Tucker's spot on the active roster, a source told The Athletic's Chandler Rome. Loperfido posted a .817 OPS in 14 games for Houston earlier this season.
