The Minnesota Twins unveiled the club's long-awaited City Connect uniform on Monday, paying tribute to the state's "Land of 10,000 Lakes" nickname with a blue and yellow color scheme.

The predominantly blue jerseys feature detailing meant to look like waves, leaning into the Twins' "The Ripple Effect" tagline. The letters 'MN,' the state postal code, are on the chest and connected by the North Star.

The hats are also blue with a yellow brim and feature an outline of the state containing more waves, the North Star, and the northern lights.

"We did this as a State Connect uniform," Heather Henkel, Twins vice president of brand marketing, told the StarTribune's Phil Miller. "We didn't pick a city, we leaned into the whole state of Minnesota."

Henkel said the yellow detailing is meant to evoke the sun reflecting off the surface of a lake, while the loon on the sleeve and the underside of the cap's bill is a nod to the state bird and the late Prince.

"They did a good job capturing Minnesota, and I'm excited to put them on," said Twins pitcher Joe Ryan.

The Twins will wear the new uniforms every Friday home game for the rest of the season, beginning on June 14, as well as for their next three Saturday home games.
