Washington Nationals right-hander Josiah Gray has a partial tear of his UCL and will undergo elbow surgery Wednesday, the club announced Friday, according to Andrew Golden of the Washington Post.
The procedure will be done by Dr. Keith Meister in Texas.
Gray hasn't pitched since early April due to a flexor strain in his throwing arm. He only made two starts this season and allowed 13 earned runs over 8 1/3 innings.
The 26-year-old was a 2023 All-Star after posting a 3.91 ERA with 143 strikeouts over 159 innings (30 starts).
