The Colorado Rockies and No. 3 pick Charlie Condon agreed to a $9.25-million signing bonus, sources told Jeff Passan of ESPN.
Condon, who was selected Sunday during the 2024 MLB Draft, matches the record bonus the Cincinnati Reds reportedly gave to No. 2 pick Chase Burns.
The shared record is $50,000 more than the previous high set in 2023 after the Pittsburgh Pirates selected Paul Skenes with the No. 1 pick.
The slot value for the third selection was just under $9.08 million.
The 21-year-old Condon hit 37 homers with a 1.565 OPS over 60 games for the University of Georgia in 2024.
