Eduardo Rodriguez is finally ready to make his Arizona Diamondbacks debut.

Manager Torey Lovullo confirmed the left-hander will make his first start for Arizona on Tuesday against the Cleveland Guardians, according to D-Backs radio host Steve Zinsmeister.

Rodriguez signed a four-year, $80-million contract in December. The 31-year-old has been out of action with a shoulder ailment and ran into multiple setbacks during his recovery. He tossed four successful innings in a simulated game on Wednesday.

The veteran southpaw has a solid track record and should be a major boost for the D-Backs down the stretch. He owns a career record of 82-53 with a 4.03 ERA and 3.85 FIP.

Rodriguez's best campaign came in 2019 when he won 19 games for the Boston Red Sox en route to a sixth-place finish in American League Cy Young voting.

Arizona's rotation currently consists of Zac Gallen, Jordan Montgomery, Brandon Pfaadt, and Ryne Nelson. Merrill Kelly is on the injured list.
