The Los Angeles Angels and general manager Perry Minasian agreed to a two-year contract extension, it was announced Thursday.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Minasian signed a four-year deal to become the Angels' GM in November 2020 after the club dismissed Billy Eppler.

"Over the last four years, Perry and his baseball operations staff have begun to lay the foundation for a bright future of Angels baseball," owner Arte Moreno said in a statement obtained by Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register. "We have been impressed by the steps Perry has taken to infuse our major-league team with young and exciting talent while also revamping our player development process. We believe this extension will allow him to continue the vision of building sustainable success throughout the Angels organization and deliver a championship for our fans."

The Angels, who own a 54-73 record this season under manager Ron Washington, haven't recorded a winning campaign since Minasian took over the role. The franchise also has the worst farm system in MLB, according to Baseball America.

Los Angeles has played much of the 2024 season without outfielder Mike Trout and third baseman Anthony Rendon, who are responsible for $73.45 million of the Angels' payroll this season.

The oft-injured duo have played in a combined 73 games this year.
