Yankees' Boone 'didn't like' Dodgers trash talk after World Series

New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone wasn't a fan of the smack talk from a few members of the Los Angeles Dodgers following the World Series.

"Didn't like it," Boone said on WFAN's "The Brandon Tierney and Sal Licata Show" on Tuesday. "They won, so they had that right. A couple of the people saying things, it's like, did you see what you did this year? It wasn't the Freddie Freemans, Shoheis, and Mookies poppin' off, it was some others."

Joe Kelly, who's now a free agent, called the Fall Classic a "mismatch" in November and said the Yankees "might be ranked the eighth- or ninth-best playoff team" if postseason clubs were reranked.

Chris Taylor also took a shot at New York for blowing a five-run lead in Game 5 due to multiple defensive errors.

"To me, and we're all kind of thinking it, they kind of shit down their leg," Taylor told the "On Base with Mookie Betts" podcast in November. "They were pressing; it was like one thing after the next. ... All we gotta do is put the ball in play right now."

Meanwhile, Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner acknowledged Tuesday that a large portion of MLB owners are having a hard time keeping up with the Dodgers' spending.

New York and Los Angeles will meet once during the regular season when they begin a three-game series May 30.
