The Cincinnati Reds and reliever Scott Barlow agreed to a one-year, $2.5-million contract, sources told Jesse Rogers of ESPN.

Barlow authored a 4.25 ERA with 68 strikeouts over 55 innings as a member of the Cleveland Guardians in 2024.

The 32-year-old's best seasons came in 2021-22 when he was closing for the Kansas City Royals. The right-hander posted a 2.30 ERA with 10.7 K/9 and 40 saves over a combined 148 2/3 innings.

The Reds also signed veteran right-hander Josh Staumont to a minor-league contract. The 31-year-old owns a 3.97 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, and 9.8 K/9 across six years between the Minnesota Twins and Royals.
