The Cleveland Guardians extended right-hander Tanner Bibee to a five-year contract with a 2030 club option, the club announced Saturday.

Bibee's new deal guarantees him at least $48 million, a source told Zack Meisel of The Athletic.

The extension covers the 26-year-old's three arbitration-eligible seasons from 2026 to 2028 and one free-agent year in 2029 if the club option isn't exercised.

Bibee, who will make his first career Opening Day start in 2025, owns a 3.25 ERA with 1.14 WHIP and 328 strikeouts over 315 2/3 innings (56 starts) since debuting with Cleveland during the 2023 campaign. He finished as the AL Rookie of the Year runner-up that season.
