San Diego Padres first baseman Luis Arraez was carted off the field Sunday after colliding with Houston Astros second baseman Mauricio Dubón.

Dubón was trying to cover first base on Arraez's bunt attempt.

The Padres said Arraez was transported to a hospital for further evaluation but is stable, conscious, responsive, and able to move his extremities.

The 28-year-old gave a thumbs-up as he left the field on a stretcher.

The three-time batting champion has three homers with seven RBIs and a .755 OPS over 22 games this season.
