The Seattle Mariners designated first baseman Rowdy Tellez for assignment Friday to make room for outfielder Luke Raley on the 40-man roster.
Tellez went deep 11 times with 27 RBIs and a .682 OPS over 62 games this season.
The 30-year-old has also suited up for the Toronto Blue Jays, Milwaukee Brewers, and Pittsburgh Pirates over his eight-year career. His best season came in 2022, when he hit 35 homers with 89 RBIs and a .767 OPS across 153 contests for the Brewers.
Meanwhile, Raley was reinstated from the 10-day injured list after recovering from an oblique strain that has kept him out of the lineup since late April.
