The Chicago Cubs placed All-Star outfielder Kyle Tucker on the 10-day injured list Tuesday because of a left calf strain.
Tucker hasn't played since Sept. 2 due to the injury. He'll be eligible to come off the IL on Sept. 16 since the move is retroactive to last Saturday.
The 28-year-old has hit 22 homers with 73 RBIs and an .854 OPS over 133 games this season, helping the Cubs post the third-best record in the National League. He can test free agency after the World Series.
Catcher Moisés Ballesteros was recalled from Triple-A to take Tucker's spot on the active roster.
