Alex Bregman has another suitor in free agency.

The Arizona Diamondbacks are interested in the All-Star third baseman, a source told Ari Alexander of 7News Boston.

Bregman has spent the last few offseasons in Scottsdale, Arizona, according to Alexander. The D-Backs' spring training field is also located in Scottsdale.

The 31-year-old could be an option for the team if it needs to free up payroll by trading All-Star second baseman Ketel Marte.

The Boston Red Sox are trying to acquire Marte, a source told Alexander, but a deal reportedly isn't close.

The Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Seattle Mariners, and Detroit Tigers have also been connected to Bregman throughout the offseason.

Bregman opted out of the final two years and $80 million left ($40 million deferred) on his contract to test the open market again after agreeing to a three-year, $120-million pact with Boston in February.

Bregman went deep 18 times with 62 RBIs and an .821 OPS over 114 games in 2025.
