The Los Angeles Dodgers reportedly bolstered their bullpen depth Friday by acquiring left-hander Eric Surkamp from the Chicago White Sox, according to Tim Brown of Yahoo Sports.
Surkamp appeared in 35 games for the White Sox last season, but opened the 2015 campaign with Triple-A Charlotte, where he fashioned a 2.81 ERA over 11 outings while notching 30 strikeouts over 25 2/3 innings.
Though the Dodgers' bullpen started the season with aplomb in the absence of closer Kenley Jasen, the club's relief corps owns an ugly 4.82 ERA over the last two weeks, surrendering five home runs in 28 innings over that span.
It's not yet known what the White Sox will receive as compensation for the 27-year-old reliever.
