Louisville winger Daniel Johnson wasn't initially projected to go high in the MLS SuperDraft, but a series of standout showings at the combine in Los Angeles has raised his stock enough to pique the interest of the Chicago Fire, who selected the 21-year-old with the 11th overall pick in the 2017 affair.
Chicago initially held the 3rd-overall pick in the draft but traded it to New York City FC. As such, Johnson is the only player Chicago has drafted thus far in the first round. He will take instruction from Designated Player winger David Accam as he attempts to break into Veljko Paunovic's side.
