VIDEO: Red Bulls midfielder Dax McCarty's effort saves a certain goal
Reuters
If the New York Red Bulls can salvage anything from a disappointing 2-1 loss to Eastern Conference rivals New England Revolution, it's midfielder Dax McCarty's last-ditch effort to prevent a free-kick goal.
A backpedaling McCarty stopped a Diego Fagundez strike from crossing the line, sticking out his right leg to save face for flat-footed Red Bulls 'keeper Luis Robles.
It wasn't all highlights for McCarthy, as he was brandished a yellow card in the 20th minute and will be subsequently suspended for the club's next match for five cumulative infringements.
