The best midfielder available in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft is heading to New York City FC, by way of Chicago.
The Fire selected Jack Harrison with the first overall pick in the draft Thursday, then promptly traded him to the Big Apple in a deal that netted the Fire the fourth overall pick - which turned out to be defender Brandon Vincent.

Harrison, arguably the most talented player in the entire draft, is capable of playing both as a box-to-box midfielder or out on the wing, and should see plenty of the pitch this season for rookie head coach Patrick Vieira - regardless of where he is deployed.
In his lone year with the Demon Deacons, the Generation Adidas signing dominated the country's top collegiate division (ACC). The freshman tied for the team lead in goals (eight) and led Wake Forest in assists (11) while starting all 22 matches. As a result, he was named the ACC's Offensive Player of the Year and also took home the division's Rookie of the Year honour - the first time anyone has captured both awards in the same season.
A semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy - bestowed upon the nation's top collegiate player - Harrison, who was the youngest player available in the draft, has the ability to keep defenders up at night for years to come.
