Freddie Roach: GSP will start training camp pretty soon
It's been seven months since Georges St-Pierre and his boxing coach, Freddie Roach, first teased the potential return of the former UFC champion.
St-Pierre has been open about his interest to test his body and his desire before making a return to the Octagon, and according to Roach, he'll be starting the process soon.
"Georges came by the gym but we haven't made any decisions yet," Roach told FightHubTV's Marcos Villegas. "But he's going to start training camp pretty soon to see how he feels and if his heart feels like he could do it again, he'll possibly do it again. But as far as we go right now, I did work out with him and so forth, but no comebacks yet. No decision has been made. I think when he feels it's the right time, then we'll make a decision.
"I had to make one promise: I will be in his corner if he does fight again."
St-Pierre had previously trained with Roach while last fighting in the UFC more than two years ago.
