Rountree draws Oleksiejczuk at UFC 219 with Saki out
Khalil Rountree will look to make it three in a row at UFC 219, and now he has a new opponent.
The light heavyweight will face newcomer Michal Oleksiejczuk instead of Gokhan Saki on Dec. 30 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The promotion made the change to the official card Tuesday without disclosing the reason for Saki's withdrawal, although the kickboxing ace has since confirmed he suffered a knee injury in training.
After dropping his first two fights in the UFC, Rountree righted the ship with a pair of first-round knockouts of Daniel Jolly and Paul Craig at UFC Fight Night 104 and 113, respectively.
The 22-year-old Oleksiejczuk heads into his first promotional bout on a nine-fight win streak, with all but one of those victories coming by way of stoppage.
UFC 219 will be headlined by a women's featherweight title bout between incumbent queen Cris Cyborg and former bantamweight champion Holly Holm. Lightweights Khabib Nurmagomedov and Edson Barboza are expected to clash in the co-main event.
