Till out of UFC London fight vs. Hermansson, Curtis steps in
The middleweight bout between Darren Till and Jack Hermansson is off again.
Till is out of his UFC London co-main event fight against Hermansson on July 23 due to an undisclosed injury, sources told ESPN's Marc Raimondi.
Veteran Chris Curtis is stepping in to fight Hermansson as Till's replacement, a UFC official told Raimondi.
The UFC initially booked Till and Hermansson to meet in a main-event bout in December 2020 but an injury also forced Till to withdraw.
Till hasn't fought in 2022 yet. The 29-year-old's last appearance was in September 2021 when he suffered a submission loss to Derek Brunson. Till revealed afterward he sustained a torn ACL during his training camp for that fight. The ninth-ranked middleweight has lost four of his past five fights, including the last two.
Hermansson, the No. 8-ranked middleweight, suffered a split-decision defeat to Sean Strickland in his last Octagon outing in February. The 34-year-old is 1-2 in his last three fights.
Meanwhile, Curtis has won all three fights since joining the UFC. The 34-year-old last beat Rodolfo Vieira by unanimous decision in June.
The UFC London card is headlined by a heavyweight bout between Curtis Blaydes and Tom Aspinall.
