A middleweight matchup between Sean Strickland and Jared Cannonier was rebooked for a UFC Fight Night event Dec. 17, the UFC announced Thursday.
The two middleweight competitors were scheduled to face off in the main event of Oct. 15's Fight Night event before Strickland required surgery on a finger infection and needed to pull out.
Both fighters were last in action at UFC 276, suffering defeats. Cannonier lost via unanimous decision to Israel Adesanya in a middleweight championship bout. The 38-year-old was victorious in five of his previous six matchups before running into Adesanya.
Meanwhile, Strickland was knocked out by Alex Pereira at UFC 276, ending his six-fight win streak.
