Jon Jones is back on top as the UFC's new pound-for-pound ruler.
Jones made a massive leap to the No. 1 spot on the UFC men's pound-for-pound rankings after quickly submitting Ciryl Gane at UFC 285, the promotion announced.
The 35-year-old, who previously sat at No. 10, captured the heavyweight championship with his first-round victory via guillotine choke.
Jones' rise bumps Alexander Volkanovski down to No. 2.
Here are the full men's rankings:
Rank | Fighter | Movement |
---|---|---|
1 | Jon Jones | +9 |
2 | Alexander Volkanovski | -1 |
3 | Islam Makhachev | -1 |
4 | Leon Edwards | -1 |
5 | Kamaru Usman | -1 |
6 | Israel Adesanya | -1 |
7 | Alex Pereira | -1 |
8 | Aljamain Sterling | -1 |

Jones became just the eighth fighter in UFC history to win titles in two weight classes.
His comeback was over three years in the making, as Jones' previous fight was in February 2020. He now owns a 27-1 (1 NC) record.
Up next for Jones appears to be two-time heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic.
