Diaz eyeing UFC 300 but says 'there's nobody to fight'
Nate Diaz could see himself returning to mixed martial arts at UFC 300.
The former UFC star tweeted Saturday that he's interested in competing at the landmark event but isn't sure if any opponents make sense.
UFC 300 takes place April 13 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Diaz parted ways with the promotion in fall 2022 after becoming a free agent in a win over Tony Ferguson at UFC 279. Diaz, who twice fought Conor McGregor in 2016, is one of the biggest pay-per-view sellers in company history.
The Stockton, California, native has fought once since leaving the UFC - a professional boxing match against YouTuber-turned-prizefighter Jake Paul in August. Paul beat Diaz by unanimous decision.
While Diaz isn't sure if there's anyone for him to fight in the UFC, two lightweight contenders disagree. Dustin Poirier, who was scheduled to fight Diaz in 2018 before the matchup fell apart, expressed interest Saturday in welcoming Diaz back to the Octagon.
Michael Chandler - who has long been linked to a matchup with UFC star Conor McGregor that has yet to materialize - chimed in Sunday morning.
Three fights were announced for UFC 300 earlier this week, though the card doesn't yet have a main event.
