Bellator is hoping the return of Bobby Lashley will tip the scales in their favor when they go head to head with the UFC on Sept. 5.
Lashley (10-2), a former WWE wrestler and current TNA heavyweight champion, last fought at an XFL show in November, winning a unanimous decision over unheralded veteran Tony Melton.
The 38-year-old behemoth is set to face 8-7 Hammer House product, Josh Burns.
Not satisfied with the addition of Lashley, Bellator is trying to load up the card with star power, booking former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal against Tom DeBlass, and Chiek Kongo against Lavar Johnson.
In his last foray into the Bellator cage, King Mo dropped a controversial unanimous decision to Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, while Kongo emerged victorious in his last bout, a second round destruction of Eric Smith.
A featherweight title rematch between champion Pat Curran and two-time tournament winner Patricio Freire is set to headline Bellator 123 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
