Rousey hopes for 'Metroid' movie: 'I've always wanted to be Samus'
Ronda Rousey has already captured desirable film roles in the 'Fast and Furious' franchise as well as a 'Roadhouse' remake, but there's a video game character she'd love to bring to life.
The character in question is Samus Aran, the sci-fi bounty hunter featured in Nintendo's 'Metroid' series of games. Samus debuted in 1986 and has become one of Nintendo's most enduring characters.
In the original 'Metroid', the main character is covered by armor and not revealed to be female until the end, which was part of the appeal for Rousey.
"I've always wanted to be Samus," Rousey told Mat Paget of GameSpot.com. "That would be badass. I love how people found out later that it was a hot chick on the inside. And then most of the day you're in a suit, so you can just hang out and eat donuts and be the star of 'Metroid'. I hope they make a movie out of that."
For now, Rousey will have to settle for being one of the cover stars of the upcoming "EA Sports UFC 2".
