NBA Game Summary - San Antonio at Utah
Salt Lake City, UT (SportsNetwork.com) - Trey Burke scored 23 points off the bench and the Utah Jazz picked up their second straight win over a playoff team with a 90-81 victory over the San Antonio Spurs.
The Jazz dismantled Portland 92-76 in their first game out of the All-Star break. They have won four of five overall.
Gordon Hayward added 18 points, including 10-for-11 from the free throw line, Derrick Favors posted 14 points and 10 rebounds and Rudy Gobert pulled down a game-high 14 boards.
"Our guys just tried to come out and play hard. Sometimes you play well, and we played well tonight," Jazz coach Quin Snyder said.
Utah forced 22 turnovers, more than eight over San Antonio's average.
Tim Duncan's 14-point, 10-rebound double-double led the way in the Spurs' third straight setback.
"They played unselfishly. They believe in each other. I thought they were tremendous, it was fun to watch," Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said of the Jazz.
They fell to 2-4 on their annual rodeo road trip and 14-15 away from home on the season. Road games against Portland, Sacramento and Phoenix remain before finally returning home on March 4.
San Antonio trailed 73-64 after three quarters, then went nearly four minutes without scoring to open the fourth.
Earlier, both teams shot 10-for-22 from the floor with a triple in the first quarter, but Hayward made seven free throws to help Utah to a 28-22 lead after one.
The lead hovered between six and 10 in the second, and Utah led by double digits for most of the third before taking an nine-point edge into the fourth.
