NBA Game Summary - Portland at Toronto
Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - LaMarcus Aldridge had 24 points, 10 rebounds and five assists as the Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Toronto Raptors 113-97 on Sunday night.
Damian Lillard netted 23 points and Nicolas Batum added 10 points and 12 assists for the Blazers, who have won eight of their last nine games.
Sunday was the start of a tough five-game road trip for Portland. The Blazers will also visit the Washington Wizards, Miami Heat, Orlando Magic and Memphis Grizzlies on this trek.
DeMar DeRozan posted 22 points and eight boards, while Jonas Valanciunas supplied 14 points and nine rebounds for Toronto, which has dropped 10 of its last 12 games.
After Terrence Ross' 3-pointer tied the game at 47 with 4:37 left in the second quarter, the Blazers used a 12-2 run to seize control of the contest. Arron Afflalo, Batum and Steve Blake knocked down 3-pointers to cap the surge and stake Portland to a 59-49 advantage.
Lillard split a pair of foul shots in the waning seconds of the first half and the Blazers took a 64-53 margin into the break.
Portland netted seven of the first nine points of the third to build a 71-55 spread. It took a 91-79 lead into the fourth, where it cruised to the easy victory.
