NBA pens open thank-you letter to Kobe

When Los Angeles Lakers icon Kobe Bryant announced his inevitable retirement from the NBA, he did so in a moving poem posted in The Player's Tribune in November.

To return the favor, the league wrote a touching thank-you letter for the 15-time All-Star on the same site hours after he walked off the hardwood at Staples Center for the final time.
