Korver: I've never seen a team shoot like Cavs in Game 2
Kyle Korver knows a thing or two about connecting from long range, but even the Atlanta Hawks sharpshooter couldn't believe what the Cleveland Cavaliers accomplished in Game 2.
Cleveland made an NBA-record 25 3-pointers Wednesday en route to a 123-98 demolition of Atlanta to take a 2-0 series lead.
"I've never seen a team shoot that well in one game," Korver told reporters. "That was pretty amazing. If they shoot the ball like that, I don't know if anyone can beat them, to be honest."
J.R. Smith hit six of the Cavaliers' playoff-record 18 first-half 3-pointers, as Cleveland took a 74-38 lead into the break.
The Cavaliers would tie the Golden State Warriors' playoff record of 21 3-pointers in the third quarter, and LeBron James acknowledged that once the team heard they had tied the record, they set out to break it.
"We've got bigger goals, but tonight was a special night for our organization," James said. "To set an all-time record is truly special."
Cleveland is averaging 16 3-pointers per game this postseason on 45 percent shooting. The win marked the Cavaliers' sixth straight this playoffs, and they remain the only unbeaten team.
