Westbrook notches 4th straight triple-double in OT win over Wizards
For the second time in his career, Russell Westbrook collected a triple-double in four consecutive contests, notching 35 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists in a 126-115 victory over the Washington Wizards.
After a slow start to the game, Westbrook came alive down the stretch, collecting 14 points in overtime alone.
"I never stop, man," Westbrook told Lesley McCaslin of Fox Sports following the game. "My mentality is to keep going. My job for this team is to stay in attack mode."
With 46 career triple-doubles, the five-time All-Star now sits ahead of LeBron James for sixth on the all-time list.
The 6-foot-3 point guard's individual play has been nothing short of stellar over the opening five weeks of the season, leading the league in points, free throws, assist percentage, and VORP. With his fourth rebound of the evening, Westbrook also became the first player in 55 years to average a triple-double entering the month of December.
With another triple-double against the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday, Westbrook will match the longest streak of his career.
