Report: Trail Blazers deny Hawks permission to speak with GM Olshey
The Atlanta Hawks' vacant general manager position won't be filled by anyone currently working in Rip City, it seems.
Atlanta reached out to the Portland Trail Blazers to request an opportunity to speak with their current GM, Neil Olshey, but was ultimately denied permission, according to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Olshey has been GM of the Trail Blazers since March 9, 2010 after taking over the role following the firing of Mike Dunleavy.
Wes Wilcox stepped down as the Hawks' GM earlier this month, as did Mike Budenholzer as their president of basketball operations.
Other names being linked to the GM job include Joe Dumars, Chauncey Billups, Brent Barry, Houston Rockets VP Gersson Rosas, and New York Knicks director of player personnel Mark Hughes.
