Butler's trainer calls Bulls GM Forman a 'liar' after trade
It's safe to say there are members of Jimmy Butler's inner circle who were less than thrilled with the trade that sent him from the Chicago Bulls to the Minnesota Timberwolves on draft night Thursday.
It's unclear whether the Bulls had made assurances to Butler about whether they would or wouldn't trade him, or to where, but Butler's personal trainer, Travelle Gaines, was furious with the Bulls' front office - particularly general manager Gar Forman, who he accused of handling the situation dishonestly.
Bulls vice president of basketball operations John Paxson responded to Gaines' scorching assessment of Forman by calling the tweet "unprofessional."
When the Bulls were in talks with the Cleveland Cavaliers on a potential trades earlier in the week, Butler reportedly told the Cavs he preferred to stay in Chicago.
The Bulls completed the deal with the Wolves while Butler and Gaines were in Paris, where the two found out about it in the middle of the night.
