Lonzo ditches ZO2s for Kobes, has monster game at summer league
Lonzo Ball wasn't feeling like a "Big Baller" on Wednesday night.
The rookie point guard swapped his signature $495 ZO2 Primes for a pair of Kobes during the Los Angeles Lakers' summer league contest against the Philadelphia 76ers.
The change appeared to pay off as Ball put together a monster game in the Lakers 103-102 win. The former UCLA standout led the way with 36 points, 11 assists, eight rebounds, five steals, and two blocks, though he did commit six turnovers. Ball was especially good in the second half where he scored 28 of his 36 points to push the Lakers to the victory.
It's unclear whether Lonzo's recent injury history factored into the decision, as the No. 2 overall pick was forced to miss Monday's contest against the Sacramento Kings with a sore groin.
