Report: Kyrie deal would 'be done by now' if Suns offered Bledsoe, Jackson, pick

If the Phoenix Suns want to acquire four-time All-Star Kyrie Irving this offseason, the Cleveland Cavaliers have given them a price.

A package including 27-year-old point guard Eric Bledsoe, rookie wing Josh Jackson, and a 2018 first-round pick would reportedly check all the boxes for the type of haul the Cavs are looking for in return for Irving.

"If that deal for Irving was there, it'd be done by now," a league source told Cleveland.com's Joe Vardon.

The main hang-up, of course, is that the Suns have reportedly made it very clear that they will not include Jackson, the No. 4 pick in the 2017 draft, in any package for Irving. Technically, Jackson cannot be traded anyway, as he's ineligible to be dealt until 30 days after the signing of his rookie contract, which he inked on July 3.

A source also told Vardon that 20-year-old shooting guard Devin Booker has been informed that he won't be traded either. Without a young, blue-chip player in addition to a strong win-now replacement for Irving at point guard, the deal likely doesn't offer the Cavs enough upside to warrant moving Irving with two full seasons left on his contract.

What a team says behind closed doors isn't exactly a sacred bond, however; Cleveland hoop heads will recall that former No. 1 pick Andrew Wiggins was told he would not be traded, before eventually becoming the centerpiece of the Kevin Love blockbuster.
