Look: Hornets unveil 'Classic' alternate uniform

The Charlotte Hornets announced their new "Classic" jersey Wednesday, the third of five uniforms they'll wear during the 2017-18 season.

Previously, Nike announced that, in addition to teams getting sets of four core jerseys for the coming season, eight teams would also receive "Classic" sets to pay homage to some of the most iconic looks in NBA history. The Hornets unveiled their "Icon" and "Association" kits in late July.

The Hornets' teal-heavy look has been one of the core color schemes in Charlotte since the 2014-15 season, when the team banished its Bobcats branding to the clearance aisle.

Unlike the home jerseys worn in recent years, the addition of pin-striping, trim around the neck and arm-holes, and the old Hugo the Hornet logo on the waistband is a triumphant callback to the Hornets of the 1990s, featuring team icons like Muggsy Bogues, Larry Johnson, and Dell Curry.

Frankly, any Charlotte jersey that manages to ignore the entire Bobcats tenure is a victory in itself.
