LeBron approves of Reggie Jackson's foul-line trolling
LeBron James doesn't have a problem with Reggie Jackson's foul-line antics - he'd be a hypocrite if he did.
Minnesota Timberwolves star Jimmy Butler had a chance to tie Sunday's game against the Detroit Pistons when he went to the free-throw line with 6.2 seconds remaining. After sinking the first two foul shots, Jackson briefly got in the way of Butler and the official, pretending to go over defensive coverages. The normally clutch All-Star proceeded to miss the third shot.
Jackson and the Pistons held on for the 100-97 victory, and on Monday, James threw support behind his troll game.
"I've done it before," James told reporters with a shrug. "I won a playoff series before doing that actually. So, I'm all for it."
It's true. In the first round of the 2006 playoffs, James pulled off a similar stunt against the Washington Wizards. Gilbert Arenas had the opportunity to tie Game 6 with 15.1 seconds remaining in overtime before James walked up to him and said, "If you miss both of those free throws, the game is over."
He did, and the Cavs left Washington with a 114-113 victory that saw them advance to the conference semis.
