Melo on Knicks video tribute: 'That goes a long way'

Love him or hate him, Carmelo Anthony did everything he could for the New York Knicks. And the Knicks showed their appreciation Saturday night.

In his first game back in Madison Square Garden as an opponent, the Knicks played a video tribute for the Oklahoma City Thunder forward prior to his name being called during the starting lineup introductions.

"That was big-time," Anthony said, according to ESPN's Ian Bagley. "And for me that goes a long way."

It was a sentimental moment, showing some of the best moments during Anthony's almost seven year tenure with the Knicks. Still, the lack of team success resonates with Anthony, as he was unable to lead the franchise further than the second round of the playoffs.

"It's a bittersweet feeling for me," Anthony said. "Coming back here, knowing the goals that I had, what I wanted to accomplish here and falling short in that category."

Anthony finished the game with 12 points and five rebounds in a losing effort. He was held scoreless in the second half.
