Report: Bucks interested in bringing back Bogut
The Milwaukee Bucks are keeping tabs on their No. 1 overall pick from 2005.
With Andrew Bogut now a free agent after being released by the Los Angeles Lakers and clearing waivers Monday night, the Bucks are reportedly interested in a reunion, according to the Racine Journal Times' Gery Woelfel.
A team official informed Woelfel that general manager Jon Horst is weighing the pros and cons of signing Bogut.
The belief is that the 7-foot veteran won't make a decision on where he'll play next until at least Wednesday.
The 33-year-old spent his first seven seasons with the organization, averaging 12.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 1.6 rejections before being dealt to the Golden State Warriors, with whom he won a championship in 2015.
Milwaukee is looking to shore up its frontcourt after moving Greg Monroe earlier in the season to the Phoenix Suns. A slew of injuries has prevented Bogut from taking on a significant role, but in short spurts, he can still be a reliable source of boards and interior defense.
He barely saw the floor during his tenure with the Lakers, averaging just 1.5 points and 3.3 rebounds in nine minutes per game across 24 appearances.
