Jodie Meeks is pulling a Kyrie Irving.
The Washington Wizards veteran guard would welcome a trade so he can have a more prominent role elsewhere, The Washington Post's Candace Buckner reports.
Meeks, 30, signed with the Wizards last offseason on a two-year, $7-million deal under the impression he'd serve as Bradley Beal's primary backup. He's been a healthy scratch three times over the last few weeks, but has received some playing time (in the single digits) the past week with John Wall out.
The nine-year vet is averaging 6.1 points and 1.7 rebounds in 15.2 minutes over 48 games while shooting just 36.8 percent from the field and a career-worst 31.2 percent from 3-point range.
