Report: Suns interview Steve Clifford for head coaching job
The Phoenix Suns' head coaching search is in full swing.
The Suns are already conducting interviews with candidates for the vacant position, and on Friday met with former Charlotte Hornets head coach Steve Clifford, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
They also met with San Antonio Spurs assistant James Borrego - who appears to be on every coach-less team's short list - on Thursday. The Suns have reportedly also reached out to Jason Kidd, Vinny Del Negro, and former Atlanta Hawks head coach Mike Budenholzer, though Budenholzer reportedly withdrew from consideration.
Clifford was fired by the Hornets following a second straight 36-46 season, but he also led the franchise to two of its three playoff berths since its second inception in 2004. He coached the team to a 196-214 record across five years.
