Clyde Drexler: 'The BIG3 is made for Manu'
Manu Ginobili could be getting a call from the BIG3 very soon.
NBA Hall of Famer and BIG3 commissioner Clyde Drexler told reporters Friday that the three-on-three league would try to recruit the San Antonio Spurs legend once he retired.
"We're going to do everything short of stalking Manu," Drexler said following the BIG3's championship game, according to Ananth Pandian of 247Sports. "He's a perfect BIG3 player. The BIG3 is made for Manu. He can handle it off the dribble, he's a good two-way player, and he plays with passion."
"That's what the BIG3 is all about. Guys who still love the game," Drexler continued. "And we're going to try to get his teammate, Tim Duncan."
Ginobili officially announced his retirement from the NBA on Monday after 16 seasons.
The BIG3 also has its sights set on signing Kobe Bryant, but hasn't had any luck convincing him to come out of retirement.
