The NBA has granted the Milwaukee Bucks relief of Mirza Teletovic's contract due to a career-ending injury, league sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

The league's decision will free up $10.5 million in cap space for the Bucks, whose key free agents this offseason include Malcolm Brogdon, Brook Lopez, and potentially Khris Middleton if he opts out of his current deal.

Teletovic was forced to retire in September after being diagnosed with pulmonary emboli in December 2017.

The 33-year-old played six seasons in the NBA with the Bucks, Brooklyn Nets, and Phoenix Suns. He averaged 8.1 points on 40.6 percent shooting for his career.
