Waiters sounds off on lack of playing time: 'F--- patience'

Dion Waiters has never shied away from speaking his mind.

Following the Miami Heat's 124-86 blowout loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday, he sounded off on his lack of playing time.

"F--- patience," Waiters said, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. "I want to play. I’ve been patient long enough. What do I got to be patient for? Come on man. I’ve been patient. I think everybody knows that. It’s time. What are we waiting for? If I’m out there, play me."

Waiters returned to the lineup on Jan. 2 against the Cleveland Cavaliers following a year-long absence due to ankle surgery.

Since then, playing time has been sporadic. Over the course of seven games, Waiters dressed but didn't play in two contests and saw 22 minutes of action combined against the Memphis Grizzlies and Bucks.

When asked if he would approach head coach Erik Spoelstra about it, Waiters didn't provide a clear-cut answer.

"I ain’t say nothing to nobody," Waiters said.

The Heat guard is averaging seven points per contest in five games played.

Waiters is signed through the 2020-21 season with a cap hit of $11.5 million this year.
