Oakley: Silver must punish Dolan after altercation with fan

New York Knicks owner James Dolan made headlines over the weekend after threatening to ban a fan who told him to sell the team.

For longtime Knicks icon Charles Oakley, it's the last straw in a series of controversial actions during Dolan's 20-year tenure.

"The commissioner needs to step in and do something, suspend him, something," Oakley told The Athletic's Frank Isola on Monday. "He can’t keep getting away with it."

Oakley has been very outspoken against the New York native. He sued Dolan after he was thrown out of Madison Square Garden and arrested during a game in February 2017. Dolan claimed he was being taunted by Oakley and ordered security to escort him out of the arena.

"He just bullies people because he has money and power," Oakley told The Associated Press.

The Knicks are dead last in the NBA with a 13-54 record and have won one playoff series since 2000.
